To get the Cummins 6B motors into a B28, without massive alterations to the boat, you will need to have one of the few B28s that came out of the factory with 6 cylinder Volvo diesels. These boats had longer and taller engine compartments. When I was researching motors for my repower 5 years ago, I could see no realistic way to fit the 6Bs into a B28 originally equipped with small block gas V8s. The 4 cylinder Yanmar is by far the best fit in a B28. And considering their outstanding track record why go to the added pain and expence of enlarging the engine compartments. Since I repowered almost 5 years ago and almost 1500 hours, I have become a huge fan of the 4LH Yanmar, especially in a B28.
