I can't believe you had 2 boxes of fine shot on board. You must've been a Boy Scout.
I saw a SS Marlin 336 30/30 the other day on Gunbroker.com. That would make a nice boat gun. I might get one. With the price of fuel, we might get highjacked for what's in our tanks. Should have the Reel Relief back next to you at Venice Marina in a couple of weeks.
Reminds me of the time we were trolling around a floater all day long some 38 miles from the bank and all day flocks of doves were circling the rig, flying onto it , it looked like.
We started talking to the crew on the rig on the radio later on and they told us the doves were landing on the rig and drinking the water in the pan from the dripping condensate from the A/C units on the rig. Amazing, to me.
Last overnite trip we made we had to observe radio silence too, they were setting charges underwater and the divers (rightfully so) worry about premature detonation from radio transmissions or static, however that might happen.
