Sean is right! I recommend laying the foam board flat on a bench or something. Roll out the contact cement on both surfaces as instructed. Before you bring the two together lay several thin sticks about 6 to 8" apart on the foam board (yard sticks or dowels). Carefully lay the formica over the stick until you have it strategically placed. Start at one end and slowly touch the edge. Once you are sure you have it where you want it, remove one stick at a time moving from right to left to the end. Carefully run your hand up and down the sheet as you go to press away any possibly air bubbles that might form. Once the entire sheet is together use a J roller (available at Home Depot or similar) firmly across the entire sheet to press the bond. That should do it.
Oh, alway have a squirt bottle of laquer thinner available when doing formica just incase you get the accidental bond. Squirt the laquer thinner between the two sheets and they will separate. Let the laquer thinner evaporate, roll new contact cement out and start over.
Good luck!
