JohnV8er,
If any of you guys have contacts in the boat building industry, try asking about core mat material. I had the guys in the shop make up 4'x8' sheet flat panels gel coated one one side. Just remember the transom section has to be 10' long. Core mat looks like 1/4" diaper material with small holes for resin to absorb all the way thru. We used a chop gun lay-up for the back side. Cuts with a cut-off saw and is flexible enough to take the inner curve of the transom, yet stiff enough for long runs. I used it in the cabin for headliner, side walls near dinette and left over pieces for insides of the hanging lockers. In the cockpit it's the same thickness as orginal side panels and fits into the recievers under the coaming boards. I don't remember how much it cost but it's been in for 4 years with no problems. Just another idea for the faithful to consider.
