Dick: I agree with you on the Ablative paint. i'm using Ultima SR which is also ablative. Over the years though the wear patterns are uneven and the bottom need to be completely cleaned and repainted. About 20 years ago, when the boat was repowered the bottom was sand blasted and barrier coated. As far as i can tell that coating is still intact. I am going to soda blast the bottom and I am proposing to do is to put on another coat or two of barrier coat over what currently exists in a multitude of caution. If anyone thinks this is a bad idea, I am always open to learning how I should be doing something, rather than how I assume it should be done!! Thanks, Rawleigh
