In Response To: Heartbroken (Capt. John League)

John; I hear ya loud and clear. Moved to Sanibel last April, had my B28 trucked down here in May from Connecticut. The salt, sun and birdcrap are brutal down here. When she came off the truck in May, she was clean as a whistle, not a scratch on her fresh awlgrip. I kept her in the water and all I did was battle electrical issues, had to have her hauled twice in 6 months to clean the running gear, wax and clean, clean and wash etc. etc. I finally gave up and sold her because it was just too distressing to watch the elements slowly beat the tar out of her. Bought a big center console with twin Yamahas and keep her dry stored. No more BS with the elements and I can tell you it is a real thrill to be cruising at 30 plus knots again and pulling right up to those barrier islands! I do miss the smooth ride though, I used to thump those 50 footers harder than they were thumping me when cruising the intracoastal, but now I have to throttle back and take the hit. Other than that, all you do is hose her off and fill the gas tank. Hang in there friend you are not alone!
