underwater cleaning

Anyone use scuba gear or other to clean their bottoms and props while boat is in the water? I can't seem to get a diver to show up to clean my props and was thinking of getting certified to do it myself. Bottom looks good, but props and shafts need cleaning. Any thoughts short of a haul out?
