Had to clean up the tower on my boat, it was used and had it retroed to my boat came off a 26B and I have a 25B.
I started by removing the canvas then wet sanded with 1200 grit in the worst areas and then did the entire tower with 2000 grit wet sandpaper. With the 2000 grit it did'nt dull it to much. Then with a buffer with cloth pad I used Colenite metal cleaner, then with a buffer using sponge pad I used Mothers wheel creme polish, then creme polish by hand.
Came out pretty darn good, got it back 85-90%, so good when I showed it to the guy I Bought it from he thought I was joking and I had bought a new tower.
Once a year I will use Colenite by hand then once a month I use Rupp Alumi-Guard. The Rupp stuff hides alot of sin, clear just wipes on no staining or residue on the canvas, not cheap but good stuff.
