Don't see any issues with doing on the hill, other than may want to leave the fuel valves between the tank and Racors closed until you are ready to run her to avoid any fuel drain back into the tank. The section in the manual about the self venting injector pump is dealing with changing the spin on, and the change procedure includes filling the new one up with diesel. The picture shows the good looking mechanic, no grease under his fingernails, filling it with a squirt pump oil can. The Cummins service manuals are the best I've ever seen, real step by step with good photos and tool lists for each job.
Forgot to mention in the bleed procedure to leave the top off the Racor after you fill it up with diesel until you are finished bleeding the injector nuts so you can top the Racor off if the level drops during the bleed.
