JP,
I remember reading something on this subject. Here is what I remember, and I'm sure that someone here will chime in if I am wrong.Bertram was one early adopters in building glass boats. The green color was a dye that was by Bertram to help show how well the coverage of resin and assist to show if there were any bubbles.
I'm sure the color could change from batch to batch. The only time mine looks emerald green is when it is wet from washing, otherwise, it's got a little brown hue to it. If the color is the same from the bilge to the bottom, or uniform througout, I would bet that it's fine. If you are really concerned, see if you can remove a thru-hull and clean it up to inspect the glass around the hole. I bet you will find it solid and the same color all the way through.
Any of the faithful able to verify this or correct me?
Chiles
