For clean data processing, I would limit the number of devices piggy backed to 5 or 6 on each output.

Use shielded wire and ground shield.

The best way is to solder connections, but a small terminal strip will work fine.
Keep connections dry.

Make sure any rf signal transmitters are properly bonded and grounded as required by the manufacturer.
