The problem isn't the rpm's on the diesels. I can get my 6bt down to almost where my gassers were-and technically lower as It's a 1.5x1 tranny. It's the bigger bite the new props take. I slowed it down by lowering pitch and adding cup which gives speed back at the top end. Slow as I go, it's still faster. I troll against tide, on one engine,wig-wag more. Trolling valves are the only other way. Walter
