I also have the 250 hp 4 bta installed at Holtz after Extra Dry's first owner . The engines now have 650 hrs on them and the only problem I have had was one bad injector. Cummins replaced the injectors in both engines under the warrenty. The engines use about 25% less fuel than the 6bta in the same Horse power range. In fact Toam Oates had the 250 6bta in his 31 Extreme and did a comparison between Extra Dry and his and gave me those figures. As mentioned the engines idle rougher than the sixes but sound sweet when running above that. We are very pleased with the 4bta performance and with the economical fuel consumption. We run out of Shark River Inlet NJ and can run to the Hudson or Toms Canyon(85miles one way)troll all day and return and use only 120 gallons of fuel
