If my memory serves, the Bert is about 6 inches wider, a little heavier (by about 500lbs) and obviously a little shorter. Both have the same 23 degree deadrise deep v. While I owned a 28 for 2 seasons, I actually like the 29 Sportfish (not the Combi). Its got a great layout.

I would think the BF would give just about as good a ride as the Bert.
