Walter,

I'm not quite sure what you are referring to.

Outboard of the stringers and under the floor(port and starboard)of the fuel tank is foam filled.

I suppose that if you were doing a complete gut job, you could leave this area free of foam and foam in the bow section to provide 'level' flotation.
