Charlie:
THat is exactly what I did. I had a friend who was redoing a 37 Pacemaker in a shed. He was also a race car painter. When he was done with the shed, he let me have in -- in exchange for me paying a hydraulic trailer guy to pull his boat out -- that was a BARGAIN! Then, he painted my boat for me for cost of materials!
What a difference working on my 31 in the shed versus his 37 -- we had 4 extra feet on the sides of my boat to work.
Anyhow, we redid my rubrail with a new aluminum one at that time. I love the way the new one looks. But, I do warn you, I have the battle scars in my back to show that I was the one on the inside undoing all the nuts for the bolts. The worst spot on my 31 Sportfish was in the galley area where I had to crawl inside the cabinets and reach -- OUCH!
Good luck -- Tom
