Sean,
If your hydraulic tabs are working and you don't have any major problems looming, then the "If it ain't broke" rule applies...
In the past 20 years, running boats from 24' to 67' with trim tabs, the only ones that I've had crap out were Lenco and both times on 30' class boats. I don't think that the size of the boat makes any difference if the correct size units are installed correctly and properly maintained.
The biggest problem with hydraulic tabs was occasional corrosion on the rocker switch which was a 10 minute fix.
Auto homing when coming off the throttles is a pretty expensive addition considering that it takes only a little memory conditioning to remember to raise the tabs manually before, or as, you pull back the throttles. Another feature with a potential problem. KISS rule applies...
Best regards,
Patrick
