Mike,
Here's Mikey chiming in as predicted.Bill was right about the tank being full of fibreglass shaving from there not inverting the tank before tapping and drilling. I notified them and they promised to compensate me but I am still waiting after over a year. They were a little late on the shipping,(about a month) and one part was missing. They were at first reluctant to replace it but I spoke to Conchita in no uncertain terms and the part appeared. Conchita is the only one there that speaks English so unless your Spanish is good that's it. She is good at relaying mesages and getting answers.
I will say that fit and finish are excellent, however all part were packed in one crate with little to cushion against damage and there was some slight damage. I decided that it wasn't worth getting in a shouting match with a supplier in Southern Florida over scratches since it was hard enough to get them to respond to a missing part. Better to warn the Faithful than worry over something over which I had little control.
If you are buying just the tank I would say Yes. The bottom of the tank follows the hull and then has a flat bottom which leaves plenty of room for water to run. If you buy one other piece from Cabrera it may help with the installation. THe piece is a flat piece of fibreglass the goes under the tank and is about 12" wide and runs the length of the tank. At the end of this piece it turns vertically to provide a bulkhead which fits across the aft end of the tank and helps support it. Although Cabrera supplies only the most rudimantary and brief instructions I figured out that installing this piece by tabbing it to the hull means when the tank is installed you pour foam in the gap and it fills the voids and leaves the tunnel under the tank open to do its job. The tank, like all of their work is beautiful and structurally built like a Bertram. Too bad they miss on the little things like customer service, but so does General Bullmoose and we keep buying their vehicles. If I may be of further assistance, Bark.
Mikey
