Fund raiser update

Yes, Faithful, there will be a new fund raiser soon to keep our sandbox free and open to all. I remain amazed by the generosity of the Faithful. Several have offered merchandise to auction off, and one, Dr. Tom Jacob, has collected all of the articles about old Bertrams and all the old original magizene ads. A total history of our boats. Bertram Yacht - thanks, Don!!!!! - has agreed to let their ads be burned on a CD ROM and given to the Faithful in return for a donation to this site. Some 275 pages of pure Bertram history. Since some of the mag. articles were - going back some 45 years - by publications that are still up and going, we are seeking permission to reprint for this non-profit endeavor, and I'm sure they will agree like Bertram Yacht did. The permission seeking process for the mags will take a little time, but what a great job Tom has done on this.
Sooooo - any of you that have some merchandise you would like to contribute for the fund raiser, let me know. I will not, repeat, will not, cherry pick it. Jerry Gomber with Tsunami Tackle sent a ton of stuff that came today, fine, really fine, 30 and 50 stand up rods, lures, fighting belts, knives, etc. Walter K. is sending some of his cookbooks, and there are others sending stuff.
This will be fun. We will set up a few dates for auctions on line here, post pix of the stuff and raise some cheese to keep this, the best boating site ever, free to all, and our Noble Leader, Ole Fart, happy and willing to put up with all our BS.
Thank you all, Faithful
