A good laugh at my expense for ya

Been working on a lite weight repower.
A wopping 75hp in a 27 Albin.

Did my layout work on the new engine. Spent Sat at the Globel welding shop reworking the mount brackets. Had them looking real good.

Installed said brackets today on stringers.

Then set engine down.
Most of the time I'm within 1/2" or closer.

The engine was three inches higher than the shaft.
Holy crap what the hell did I do.

After letting a few expletives go, I settled down to find the screw up.

After thinking, if I just set the boat on fire, I wouldn't have to worry about the engine problem, I noticed on my layout sheet that I inverted one measurement.

So out comes the engine and the rear brackets for reworking.
I hate doing things twice.

Laugh it up boys. It won't happen again in your life time.
