I can smell a race coming on to Atlantic City. And I like to address it but I'm still laughing about UV post and Andre's reservation snaffu. The three hours at the bar! Wow.
The trip home for the boats that came up from the South to AC last summer got into to a "Who could go faster" thing and then SeaNile buried the bow in a following sea. From the reports, it was terrifying for a moment.
So for the trip down for the Long Island guys with a meeting place of say Jones Inlet will be a ripper! It's the Big Blocks vs. Diesel. High RPM's vs. Brut strenght. It could be that six or seven boats could run. My planing stage is in progress: polished rudders shafts and props, tune up, oil change etc. I'm going over the side to clean the bottom and running gear the night before. The bottom has been sand blasted and barrier coat is suppose to go on this week. The K&N air filtration system will get checked. The dinner settings for eight will be in the car's trunk. I'm bring no ice(that's My Four Girls' job). Just bringing extra oil and booze. Maybe not too much booze. Charlie, is the factory having the cocktail part again?
Any way, all these little things could make for a very fast boat. I mean Harv started it with the 29 knts.
And another thing. The departing time should be reasonable. Like 6:30 from Jones. The trip looks like 92 n. miles at roughly 209 degees true. Don't wait for me if I'm late. I'm setting my alarm clock for 3 bells.
