Coonass weekend

Me & the Bride went over to the camp Friday morning and just got back. Shorts & t shirt weather, so washed AJ down good, changed some breakers out - had the SSB on a 15 when it needed a 30, etc. Had pine tar stains all over the cockpit from the big short leaf pine by the dock, took that off with denatured alcohol, but acetone worked better. Think I'm gonna cut some visqueen and just lay it on the deck, or maybe some of that cheap indoor-outdoor carpet, or something.
The oval mahogany cockpit table worked out great on the fighting chair pedestal, looks great and the new wood/canvas deck chairs work fine. Made a cocktail cruise yesterday afternoon marveling at Mother Nature's wonders, the swamp maples blooming, the blue herons, and a huge flock of geese heading north. Dumb bastards. Put the Cummins on the pegs and they ran flawlessly and smooth as silk, over 27 kts, the 2400 rpm cruise is 24.6, not bad for an old boat.
All in all, a nice way to pass a few days in Coonassland. Oh yeah, Andre' and his traveling circus even got their batteries changed, and RR actually runs now on Odyessy power.
