They[the two pick-up ends, if factory style] should reach down as far as the factory pick-ups. The ends should be cut at a slight angle, not horizontally. This is to ensure no cavitation [air and fuel mixed] of the fuel at the pick-up end as the motors pull fuel and the tank is extremely low with fuel.
