I've been very happy with my Garmins. Had the 2006 series color on a proline that would read the bottom accurately at 45 knots, good resolution for fishing at trolling speeds too. The 3010 on my Bertram is just as good. The new 3000 series let you add stuff (radar, satellite weather, etc.)later with just network cables, very cool. Recommend spending the extra dough for the color screen, you just won't be as happy later if you don't
