In Response To: correct radar mounting (bob lico)

Bob - that radar has about a 20 degree angle of view, so no need to shim it up. On the other hand, remember that radar is line of sight, so when you mount the radar, take a pole and lay it from the centerline of the radar scanner over the front of the half tower to make sure at cruise angle the radar will be able to 'see' right ahead of the boat. I see a lot of radars mounted on the rear of half towers and have heard some problems with it not being able to see right ahead of the boat.
