Even though large outboards have improved in fuel consumption and durability the depreciation of their value in such a short time is nothing short of unbelievable. Within several years that 36' GW owner will have 4 anchors, one at the bow and three on the stern and thats reguardless how wealthy he is. An owner at my dock repowered his 27 Whaler last year with, I believe [2]4 cycle 250HP Yamahas. He told me the bill was $34,000 for motors and installation. When the oil is changed the dealer must do it to preserve the warrrenty and thats close to $400/change. I guess different strokes for different folks.
