Varnish & paint be damned

I've been screwing around with varnish on AJ's fighting chair and cockpit table now for several months and have decided I simply ain't gonna do that crap any more. I even have Snow doing most of it, and the cruel fact is it is a totally thankless job, no matter how it turns out. To me varnish and paint is like when I used to do divorce cases 35 years ago. No way to make my client happy short of hacking the limbs off the offending spouse and his/her lawyer in the courtroom with a machete'.

So the two happiest days of my life were some 30 years ago when I did my last divorce case and 10 years ago when I sold my lawnmower.

I ain't doing no more varnish and paint, ever. I'm gonna put the chair back together next week, and ya'll that see it at the UVI will see it in the best shape it's ever gonna be in by my hands.

Like my Daddy taught me, if it flies, floats, or f**ks, RENT IT. I have violated all 3 of my Pop's rules, but the varnish rule is one that I will never violate again.
