Thanks for the advice, the shaft saver bearings look interesting. I looked at the site and they have the bearings with an i.d. of 1.375" and an o.d. of 2". I can't remember the i.d. of the strut but it seemed like an odd size. Also, I do have a good bit of wear on the other shaft where the stuffing box packing surrounded the shaft. A guy told me to add a longer hose in order to move the packing nut to a cleaner part of the shaft. Is this ok? Thanks for your help.
