This is an interesting, informative and practical thread. I just replaced my starboard 1 1/2" AM 19 shaft after only 14 months of usage. The machine shop gave me $300 credit towards the purchase of AM 22 of which I installed. Never hit nothing, never. No credit however for my lost prop which was only 14 months old as well. So my boat sits on a lift and during this time of year I put it up and just work on it. Now I'll just keep the dingy in the water so I can rotate the 22" props every now and then. Just like anything else advantages of keeping your boat out of the water and disadvantages as well. Owning one of these promises life will never be boring. Dave K
