Cabin sole

I've stripped everything pretty much out, and have made supports for the my cabin sole. What I want to do is pretty much like the original Bertram set-up, with two large hatches for my flooring.

I'm going to use teak & holly ply. Can I make the hatches right out or 3/4" ply, or will the 3/4" ply by itself warp? WHen I looked at Doug C's hatches, they had kind of a box glued/screwed to the bottom of the ply--do I need to do this? Would I be better off making the hatches out of 1/2" marine ply, and then epoxying 1/4 take and holly ply down on that?

Any suggestions appreciated.

Thanks,

John F.
