shaft wobble

I felt some vibration coming from the starboard running gear and noticed the shaft bouncing around quite a bit. Grabbed the shaft while underway and the wobble ceased. Put in some packing material but it didn't fix the problem. While stopped, shook the port and starboard shafts and they both moved just a little. Any suggestions?
Appeared that the coupler bolts were tight but didn't check with a wrench.
