Fiberglass Cockpit

Finally going back together with cockpit redo and have noticed that the fg deck update only needs the two raised mahogany joists closest to the fuel tank and the two outside plywood ones to support it which leaves two in between on either side that are lower and seem to offer no structural benefit to the deck. Can they be left off or do they serve some other purpose?
