Guys..i was part of that thread a while back...there ws some debate, but i went ahead an installed a 3/4inch mushroom thru-hull with seacock and used a 3/4 in piece of starboard about 6"x6". Loaded up the area with 5200 and set if all up...i made the connection tight as i could with bare hands and then made a full turn with a wrench (well not really a wrench, but that tool that slides into the thru hull that allows you to turn it from outside the hull). Worked great, no leaks, no worries for 2 years now.
