core question

Capt. Patrick, I'm rebuilding cockpit deck and my construction includes a cored fiberglass sub-deck with teak boards overlaid. What product should be used for the core and what thickness is adequate? The support will include a 4" fiberglass shelf around the perimiter and the two inboard stringers extended up with laminated plywood. It will be made in three pieces,lenghtwise, fiberglassed in, and covered with 1/2" teak boards. Thanks for the advice, Mitch
