Jim,

I wouldn't recommend using the PVC Foam Board for any structural item or any load bearing surface, such as a deck or engine box. Polyester resin will only lightly bond to the PVC and could easily delaminate with a light to moderate flexing.

I use it as a laminated in core for the console bubble, but that's a small no load item. It could be used for most cabinetry if face laminated with high density plastic such as Formica or Pionite.

I'd suggest that you buy a few square feet in various thickness and experiment with it before committing yourself. It's a staple product around my shop and I find a vast number of uses for it, but it does have it's limitations.
