Hey Mr. Aluma-Glow Man...

(think of the old "Culligan Man" commercials)

I've got my money hole out of the water this week for a bottom job, and remembered a recommendation a while back about coating props with Aluma-Glow. I don't want them painted w/bottom paint, don't want to loose the speed (was told to expect to loose 3-4 knots). I plan to get wet and scrape them clean myself every 2 weeks or so.

Anyway, I did a search and found the original thread I remembered:
-------------------------------------------------
What is the best method for polishing my running gear. I was thinking them cleaning them to a hi gloss, then coating with laquer. What do you guys think??

Muriatic acid will clean them up in no time. Doubt the lacquer would hold up long. Poly-Glow makes a clear coat product for metal called Aluma Glow. It is a thin liquid that sets up about as hard as anything I've ever seen, can't scratch it with a pocket knife.
-------------------------------------------------

Do you think that would be appropriate, useful or foolish to put on the new props I'm putting on her? (i.e., ever try it?) I've got nibrals, if that matters. Thanks in advance for any advice.
