Not at all. Someone pulled a real crap job on that.

While it is common to see thin spacers made from thickened epoxy, anything much over 1/8" means there is serious engine to strut alignment problems that need to be addressed.

Certainly anything made from wood will rot and fade away leaving the strut to lose its bond to the hull and cause major problems.

In my years of repairs, I have seen everything from flat washers to paint stir sticks shoved under a strut. There are alot of monkeys out there workin on boats.
