I take the "I already spent too much money on this baby Hyena" means that your not going to recover all of what you have in or that the boat is not worth it. The money spent, that is.

That's why I and an awfull lot of Bertram 31 owners fell that the money is an investment and will get the money out. Within reason. I mean there has to be some wear and tear.

The diesel boats bring the money back all the time.

Now the custom complete redos are another story. These guys have big bucks. Like SeaNile- they redo every yr. Major construction. They must figure that this is the boat for the next hundred yrs. And can you argue against this? The answer is NO.

(God, help me. I just need another fifty...)

Now with the locals, we discuss pricing of boats all the time. Some body is always making the wrong move and for the wrong boat. But I always figure that when your buying a used boat, you get the electronics free. They're like just thrown in.

So, how long will you keep the boat? Ten years? Then, go for it.
