If you're buying a NY boat, make sure the tranporters know when you get quotes that the boat is in NY/LI. I bought my B31 from a guy on LI and had it trucked to MD. A couple of guys wouldn't deal with NY/LI at all because of something to do with the bridge crossings. The company I used was LI based (recommendation from this board), and it was no big deal to him. The company was great to deal with, and I can find out who it was if you want. Also, check around, I found a huge variation in quotes.
