Well, it has been in the works for several years. Some of us Faithful have met from time to time with the factory folks to share our views. The 36 is the first step, and appears to be a very nice fit for their line of boats. The B31 is more problmatic since they are selling so many of the 63's at $3 mill. a copy you have to wornder how they could fit a $325K boat into the production line.
On the other hand (listen up, Joe, Don, & Kim) my view remains that a new B31 would, if nothing else, re establish the Bertram line back to the roots that made the company great in the first place. Sure, you could only sell 23 1986 Silvers, but that was then and now is now. The pure publicity value of putting the hood ornament back on the hood will pay huge dividends, and if a realistic target is to sell 25 a year, brand new, insurable, bankable, classic boats, it's a chip shot. I will buy one to get the ball rolling. Put me in the order book, subject to the usual lawyer weasel words.
