Hi Doug
I like the Simrad. I have a ap22 on the 31 and I am putting a AP25 with the AP26 remote comtrol on the 38. I talked with the Raymarine and Simrad people and they both said that you need both the GPS and the fluxgate compass for the system to operate at its best. The flux gate must be mounted very low in the boat. On the 31 its in the bulkhead under the floor in the cabin. Up high of course.
