Well, Faithful, me & the Bride had a nice little mid-winter break in Miami Beach at the anitque jewelry & sliver show. Purchases were minor enough to still allow diesel for AJ this year, so a real plus. Miami Beach is a nice place, has sort of made a rebound in the last few years, not so cheesy as it used to be. We stayed at the new Loew's Miami Beach and it is real nice, plus has an Emrail's restaurant in it, first class hi-level Coonass food. Bring lotsa dough with you. Had a great time with Jim Bailey & his lovely Bride Friday for lunch (thanks for lunch again, Jim) and the show & he says the sailfish bite right now down there is fantastic. Once again, we all have met great friends here.
This morning at the Miami airport it looked like a refugee camp with all the yankees trying to get back to the snow. Folks sleeping on the floor in mile long lines to the ticket counter. A five dollar bill at the curbside checkin got UV & the Bride a boarding pass in 30 seconds. Remember this guys, flash a 5 and you are in. But you gotta travel on an e-ticket, which is a snap now vs. a few years ago.
Our plane from Miami to New Orleans was packed with yankees who were trying to go to NYC or Boston and their flights got cancelled, so they said, "what the sh*t, let's go to New Orleans and party". That attitude is what makes America great. Me & the Bride spent most of the flight giving restaurant reccs. to the yankees, who were getting pretty wound up on the $5 whiskey before we landed.
Anyway, glad to be home, hope to read all these posts sooner or later.
