Hey Scott,
Mostly just trying to make her right for the season, although I've managed to fit in a half dozen short booze cruises, but only one fishing trip. Been a bit overwhelmed, between work (busy now) and the boat projects: new injectors, adjust valves, new water pumps, new Garmin 3010 chartplotter, new stereo, fix the bonding system (labor intensive bigtime), replace every shitty rotten original aluminum cable clamp that Bertram put in the boat (what were they thinking?), bottom job, zincs, dye test shafts, new thru-hull transducer, install spare/reconditioned props, new GFO packing (decided against the dripless bladders, I'm sure we'll argue about that sometime), and the new gennie (that REALLY hurts $$$)... yeah, I guess I am getting her ready for the season. But probably more like I hate seeing that stuff not right, and I have to fix it, whatever season. Don't want to find myself in the Bahamas this summer with a broken boat.
Remember what I told you about the oil dipsticks? I found out that they were miscalibrated high, as i suspected, to the tune of about 3.5 quarts extra, EACH engine. No wonder those Cats smoked so much the first 15 hours after I filled em up with oil. 17 years that boat and those engines were like that, and nobody thought to ckeck. Amazing.
Also getting geared up to have Rachel (she swears she wants to do it) replace all those SS screws in the windshield using plastic shoulder washers, 316 alloy screws and tef gel, following your model/advice.
BTW- I tried calling you back 3 times, but got all rings twice, ans machine once (left message), but M called back thinking I was calling for her.
Sean
