I have 90's vintage 6bt's- 210 hp with 2000 hrs on them and have been told mine are just broken in. I would expect you,ll get a more knowledgeable answer from one of our Cummins experts, but given its heavy construction, low rpm running,and very basic structure, any problems I forsee might be more in the accessories (pumps, alternators, heat exchangers, etc). I've heard of 10,000 hrs on some of the charter and commercial guys.
