Sealing Plywood with Epoxy

I've made a couple of supports that are going in my bilge out of marine plywood and have put a coat of West on them.
Do I gain anything for sealing purposes by putting cloth over them also, or are a couple of coats of epoxy alone all I need?
Thanks.
