Sounds like you have a Sportsfisherman, not a flybridge cruiser. I have the same with a permanent head where you have your portapottie. You have space limitations of height as you want to cover it and perhaps use a V berth filler.
I have an electric flushing Jabsco head there. You'll need a thru-hull intake and a larger thru hull discharge fitting, both with shut-offs and grounded to your bonding system. I ran the discharge hose from the toilet through the starboard side under the V-berths, to a "Y" valve. One side to a rubber holding tank, the other I had to bring up under the starboard cabinet (in front of your lower steering station. This hose must first rise above the waterline, be connected to a vented "U"and then back down to your discharge fitting in the hull.

A similar vented hose on a much smaller scale must be done on the intake side. I ran that behind the anchor locker bulkhead. Both these vented lines are necessary to avoid water flowing back in a siphoning effect as your toilet water level is fairly low.

As an added safety feature, I installed a one way flap valve on the overboard discharge side so you can only flush outward.

You may very well have the intake and discharge fittings in your hull as I am sure Bertram never had a portapottie as standard equipment. All boats came with an overboard toilet until perhaps later years. Your vent and holding tank deck fittings are best placed where it's easiest for you to snake them.

The front floorboard triangle comes out easily if the screw holes are visible. If not, you can re-cover that small area. It makes the bolting down of the toilet much easier.

The job isn't as hard as it sounds, but IS cramped to work in. I did it alone-ugh! When I did, there were not so many small tank options as there are now, so I went with the bladder. Walter
