Kipp - gald ya'll tore them up. The Lump is on for sure. We used to fish there 35 years ago and caught some trolling, but now it's like a bird feeder in your back yard with 50-100 boats anchored up chumming. Tuna fish ain't so dumb - why chase flying fish when the fleet will feed you pogies and bonita chunks for free?
Anyway, Faithful, Kipp reminds me of the first few years I was the Steward of AJ. Just incredible what the B31 will do compared to any other boat even near her size. All of a sudden you are at the helm of a boat taht will really get out there in just about any weather. You wait for it to act funny in heavy seas, and it does not. You hold your breath when it comes down, waiting for the 'crunch', but it don't do that, ever. And in a following sea, you wait for it to yaw off, threaten to broach, but we all know better. Every now and then I read the article about the 1959 Miami-Nassau race where our boat won by a huge margin in giant seas, look at the pix of it running, and the damn thing was made out of wood. And it did not break. Our glass ones are a helluva lot stronger, as evidenced by the years. Waxing on, let me share a story about me & Andre' going to Port Eads in AJ and getting stuck at the dock by some heavy weather for a day or 2, then I told him we were going marlin fishing. We, just the two of us, went out, and it was real, real rough. Andre' put on a life jacket, snugged it up, and we kept going and fished. He never took the life jacket off, even when pitching me beers. When we got back to the harbor, he told me he had to have one of these boats, and as we all know, now he does.
