2005 New England Rendezvous

With all the action that is unfolding to the south of us with the Atlantic City rendezvous, I feel compelled to provide an update of a sort on the New England gathering for this summer.

The truth of the matter is that I think it is time for someone else to take a stab at organizing this event. I have had a tremendous amount of fun over the past three years doing this rendezvous. It has been pretty successful in terms of participation, and sure has enabled us to meet and have a good solid weekend of fun every summer. But the nature of, pace and requirements for my new job here at Lutco are really not leaving me with much spare time. Surely not as much as in past years. I think this is similar to Paul Gozewski after 2001. I was his co-organizer during the first few years, and then his job began consuming massive time, and he no longer was able to dedicate the effort and I took it on. I simply don't have the time right now to ensure the continued success of the event.

I also have worked pretty hard at making a successful fun weekend for everyone, and would like to attend and enjoy as an attendee for a year.

I am absolutely willing to help out in any way. I will continue to host the ordering and reservation website if that would be helpful. I will also be happy to be involved to a certain degree for continuity or other reasons that may make life easier if need be. But on the overall, I am not entirely sure that I am in a position to give it the deserved level of attention that it will need this year.

I am asking for a volunteer or two who is willing to take on somewhat of a part time job, and to do it professionally. If you are interested, email me, and I can answer any questions that you may have. It really isn't all that hard, but as Charlie has found out in Atlantic City, it takes time and effort to do it right.

Thanks for the support of everyone over the past three years. I have appreciated it.
