To those of you who laugh at the idea, I suggest you look at marge ships being built in the last 20 years-MANY use this exact same system on a larger scale. My bud is the port manager at WHOI and when their research vessel Knorr was in for a refit many years ago, I saw these drives in action. Very impressive and, as Chiles rightfully points out, there are some very distinct advantages as well as similar size profiles to traditional propulsion systems. I guess new stuff scares some people, huh? Especially those people with 25+ year old RLDT's ;-)...
