Ernest,

Nothing wrong with the Yanmar harness. Almost all commercial engine harness's use copper wire. And their harness is no more expensive than anybody else's factory harness.

Only use it though if you are using the Yanmar panels. It is plug and play.
Don't try and cut the end and wire to your gauges.
Get the short adapter plug at the engine that adapts Yanmar to the rectangular 10 wire universal harness.
Then build your own or buy the less expensive 10 wire harness.

You also don't need a tapered shaft.

This stuff should have already been decided by your repower people as part of the complete repower package though.

I hope you got a package price and are not doing the by the hour job.
